It has now been a year since my fracture, and I’m going to have surgery to remove the metal screws. That means the scar, which had finally started to heal nicely, will have to be cut open again. This time, I won’t be put under general anesthesia. Instead, I’ll only have a nerve block injection from my arm down, which means I’ll still be conscious during the operation ! That sounds scary too, but I’m even more afraid of the pain when the nerve block wears off. My friends who have also experienced fractures have all been warning me, saying, “It really hurts!”
